if there is an intention here it’s a reaching for the middleground. the first half aims to be too playful, too restless, to be labelled as 'background music'; in contrast, the second half welcomes this categorisation while still hiding a few surprises.

looping acoustic warbles. heartbeat kick drums underlaying twinkling guitar. an oft-forgotten ryuichi sakamoto theme as recited by a stranger walking a barely lit path. collages made from audio bric-a-brac. rain, static, a cat’s water fountain.
